Gerry suffered a knee injury dashing to the aid of an elderly patient whilst working as a nurse
Whilst he working as a nurse, Gerry suffered a knee injury rushing to the aid of an elderly patient who was threatening to jump off her bed. In his attempt to try and protect her from injury he slipped on water on the floor of the ward.
How we helped Gerry
Initially he went to his Trade Union for help, however the solicitors appointed by the Trade Union said he had no basis for a claim. Gerry then appointed us and we immediately raised Court proceedings on his behalf. Despite his quick action in going to the aid of his patient the Health Authority denied liability for his claim. We arranged for the floor to be slip tested and proved it was dangerously slippery when wet. Eventually, the Health Authority agreed to settle the claim and compensation of £15,000 was agreed.
I was very happy with the way Lindsays dealt with my claim, especially given my experience with my Union solicitors. I was thrilled that Lindsays agreed to take on my case at very short notice. If they had not done so I would have lost the right to claim. I was happy with how they went about proving liability against my employer and in getting my claim fully and properly valued. I was happy to settle my claim at £15,000.
