Whilst our client was shopping in a bookstore she slipped at the top of an escalator and fractured her wrist
When our client fell and fractured her wrist whilst shopping in a bookstore, we successfully negotiated her £6,300 in settlement.
How we helped our client
Our client was shopping and had stepped onto an escalator to go downstairs when she slipped on the metal panel before the steps. On that particular day, it had been raining and there were no wet floor warning signs or protection in place over this area to prevent slips from happening.
As a result of her fall, our client fractured her wrist and suffered minor cuts and bruises. She was assisted by members of staff and the manager, but had to attend hospital for treatment.
For us to obtain the best possible compensation for our client, we recovered a copy of her hospital and GP records, and we then instructed a surgical expert to examine her wrist, and provide a full report commenting on her injuries and prognosis for the future. After the medical report had been approved by our client, it was sent onto the third party insurers.
Following an investigation into the accident the bookstore admitted liability for our client’s injuries and we secured a compensation settlement to the sum of £6,300.
