Our client suffered an injury to his wrist when he slipped on ice at work on a building site in December 2017. He attended Accident and Emergency and was initially diagnosed as having suffered a wrist fracture. This was subsequently clarified to be a soft tissue injury.
We intimated a claim on the main building contractors and received an admission of liability pre-litigation. We instructed medical evidence to quantify the claim and entered into settlement negotiations. The insurers for the building contractors offered £3,500 for our client’s injuries and disputed his loss of earnings.
We recommended to our client to raise a court action. His claim settled two weeks before trial for £72,000.
