Our client was working in the course of his employment on an Oil Rig. As he was descending a staircase and onto the deck, his foot came into contact with the deck grain grating which was concealed by standing water. Our client lost his footing and sustained an injury to his ankle. The drain was undersized which allowed it to move and caused our client to fall.

Our client suffered a twisting injury to his ankle together with soft tissue injuries and ligament damage. He wore crutches for 7 weeks and received physiotherapy and a steroid injection. His injuries largely resolved after 6 months.
We instructed a medical report to determine the extent of his injuries and prognosis for the future. Settlement was agreed at £13,200 which included loss of earnings.
