Circumstances of accident
We acted on behalf of our client in an action against multiple defenders which arose out of an accident at work.
Our client, whilst working in the course of his employment at a dockyard, slipped on fishmeal residue which was left by the previous workers at the dock who had failed to clean this up.
Our client had warned the dock owners that fishmeal residue was present, however, they failed to adequately clean the surface of the dock.
We raised court proceedings against a number of parties who we held responsible for the accident taking place.
How we helped our client
As a result of the fall, our client sustained a fracture to his right ankle and required physiotherapy as a result.
Due to his injuries our client was unable to work for nine weeks following the accident and required assistance with everyday tasks at home.
As well as being able to claim compensation for our client’s injuries we were also able to include a loss of earnings claim, a claim for the assistance and claim for loss of the enjoyment of a booked holiday.
Settlement
We were able to obtain a settlement of £12,000 for our client in respect of all heads of claim.
