Circumstances of accident
We acted on behalf of our client in an action against her employer’s insurers which arose out of an accident at work.
On the day of the accident, our client was at work undertaking her usual duties. She was working in a care home and, while attending to a resident, she slipped on a wet bathroom floor injuring her knee. There were no wet floor signs to indicate that the floor has just been cleaned.
As a result of the fall, our client suffered a dislocation to her left knee cap. She required assistance with personal care and everyday tasks at home as a result.
How we helped our client
We intimated a claim on to her employer’s insurers. Following their investigations, liability was accepted. We recovered our client’s medical records and instructed an orthopaedic report and an MRI scan.
Settlement
A court action was raised and, after negotiations, we achieved a settlement of £3,500 for our client’s injuries.
