Our client was travelling along the road on his bicycle when suddenly, his front wheel went into a large pothole causing him to be thrown over the handlebars and land on the ground suffering injury.
The pothole was filled with water.
He suffered soft tissue injury to his left shoulder, left forearm and left hand.
How we helped
We intimated a claim directly to the Council. Soon after we received confirmation from the Council that they were prepared to deal with our client’s claim due to the extent of the defect.
We recovered our client’s medical records, and instructed an expert medical report to comment upon his injuries. The expert recommended further ultrasound examination, which was carried out.
Settlement
After all the appropriate medical evidence was obtained, we forwarded this onto Council and thereafter negotiated settlement with the Council’s insurers for £5,000.
