Jim suffered from noise induced hearing loss at a relatively young age
Following exposure to excessive noise during his employment in road maintenance, Jim now suffers from noise induced hearing loss (NIHL).
Whilst working as a road worker repairing potholes, Jim contracted NIHL at a relatively young age as a result of being exposed to excessive noise. He had no family history of hearing loss nor did any member of his family require a hearing aid. In his 50's Jim required to wear a hearing aid, he was embarrassed and struggled to hear people speak to him.
