On the day of the incident, Laura was driving her vehicle when she pulled up at a roundabout. Whilst stationary, another car crashed into the rear of her vehicle, causing her to sustain a neck injury and suffer from secondary depression.
How we helped Laura
We notified a claim to the insurers of the other driver. Liability was admitted. We thereafter instructed various medical reports so that we could quantify Laura’s claim. Things became complicated because Laura resigned her job for a number of reasons, not all of which related to the accident, so we had to negotiate a compromise on her claim for loss of earnings. We couldn’t agree a settlement until a court action was raised. We progressed this to a final hearing and negotiated a settlement at the final hearing itself. We agreed a settlement which is worth some £140,000 in today’s money.
