Driver receives five times the initial compensation offer

Our client was driving home from work on the A75 when a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction veered into her path. She was unable to avoid the collision and as a result suffered both physical and psychological injuries.

The insurance company were quick to admit liability and offered £1,000 for her to settle the case at an early stage.

After we had her examined by a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Consultant Psychiatrist, it was identified that our client would require Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to assist with her recovery. The treatment alone was in excess of the initial £1,000 offer.

In following our advice, the initial offer was rejected and as a result, the insurer increased this to £4,800, approximately five times the amount initially offered. Our client was delighted to accept this having had the benefit of access to CBT treatment.

Not only was our client’s recovery maximised by access to the private treatment, but she was able to secure compensation that accurately reflected her injuries and losses.
