Our client was cycling past a side road, when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle which attempted to turn right without making the appropriate checks.
He was knocked from his bike and thrown over the bonnet of the car resulting in soft tissue injuries to his left shoulder, arm and knee. He also sustained a laceration to his right leg which left permanent scarring.
How we helped our client
We initially spoke to the client to gain a good understanding of what had happened and obtained a full statement from him. We obtained a copy of the Police report which provided details of the third party insurers. We intimated the claim upon them.
In the meantime, we ingathered a copy of our client's medical records and thereafter instructed an orthopaedic expert to comment upon the injuries sustained.
The third party insurers failed to respond to any of our correspondence. As a result, we recommended raising a court action with a view to moving our client's case towards a quick resolution.
Settlement
Shortly after raising a Court action, we achieved settlement of our client's claim at £10,400 which comprised of compensation for his injury, along with the cost of necessary repairs to his bike.
