Our client was involved in a road traffic accident that occurred in the evening while occupying the driver’s seat of a stationary vehicle.
The car was positioned on a public road when it was struck from the rear by a 4×4 vehicle at an unknown speed. The force of this initial impact propelled our client’s car forward, causing a secondary collision with another vehicle at approximately 5 mph from the front.
The combined force of these impacts was severe enough to cause extensive damage to our client’s car, which was ultimately written off. During the collision, our client was thrown forward and then backwards due to the sudden and forceful movement.
As a result of the accident, our client suffered:
- Lower back pain lasting approximately three weeks.
- Left knee symptoms persisting for seven days.
These injuries temporarily restricted our client’s ability to engage in regular sporting and leisure activities for a period of three weeks. Fortunately, these restrictions were short-term, and our client has since resumed normal activities without ongoing limitations.
Our client required two days off work immediately following the accident. After returning for three days of light duties, further absence of two weeks was necessary to allow for recovery. Despite this, no long-term impact on employment occurred, and our client is now working as normal.
Settlement
Following negotiations, the claim was settled for £1,800. This amount reflected the pain, suffering, and inconvenience caused by the injuries, as well as the temporary disruption to work and leisure activities.
